American Apparel is a clothing distributor and retailer store based in Los Angeles, California. It was founded in 1989 by Dov Charney and since then had represented one of the biggest manufactures in the United States. However, the company started reporting issues since 2009 and finally declared bankruptcy in October 5th 2015.
Nowadays American Apparel has 110 stores distributed all over America. According to the L.A Times, all the stores and manufactures has been wined by the Canadian brand Gildan Active wear in auction for $88 million dollars. American Apparel is closing stores by the end of April and, as a result 3,400 people will become unemployed.
