Is it Reem Acra or Ly Qui Khanh?

On January 18th, the actress and singer Jennifer Lopez attended The People’s Choice Awards. After being nominated six times in the past, she finally received an award, thanks to the series Shades of Blues; but she didn’t only shine in the awards, she also lit up the red carpet with her sense of fashion.

This J. Lo look was fixed together by her professional stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn; they choose a glamorous black dress by Reem Acra. This dress had a sheer beaded bust with soft floral crystal applications. It was the perfect combination of a classy style, a smooth fall in the fabric and all the possible sensuality a dress could have. But the shocking cleavage was not the only controversy from that night.

The fashion designer from Vietnam, Ly Qui Khanh, pointed through social media the unbelievable resemblance of this dress with one creation he launched 5 months earlier. It is undeniable how both dresses look alike; the small differences we could find were smaller sleeves, different cut in the skirt of the dress and Reem Acra’s dress was black while Ly Qui dress was white.

The Stylepolitan team is not sure if this was a coincidence or the result of inspiration. Do you think Reem Acra stole Ly Qui Khanh’s design? What we know for sure is that both designers are amazing and both dresses are exquisite.
